Debasish Ghose joined the faculty of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science in 1990 as a lecturer (1990-1993) and continued as an assistant professor (1993-1997), associate professor (1997-2003), and professor (2003 - ). In 2023 he moved to the Robert Bosch Center for Cyber-physical Systems at the Indian Institute of Science while continuing to be an associate faculty at the Department of Aerospace Engineering. He has held various visiting positions such as at the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Leicester, and the University of Exeter in the UK. He is a fellow of INAE, NASI, and INSA and an associate fellow of AIAA.
