After designing the Bonway logo, I was tasked with designing the product logo.
We went through several iterations that were quite similar to the first design. They can be seen in the slideshow. We were mostly trying to settle on a color and layout for the logo.
The colors had to appeal to children and the layout had to be such that it could be read even when the logo was tiny. Before presenting the final logo, it did also run some tests such as blurring it to see make sure the logo felt balanced and placed it on different backgrounds to see hows the colors complimented each other.
This is the final logo. Let's break it down and understand it's components.
Colors :
Red (#FF5858), Yellow (#FFEC5F) and White (#FFFFFF)
We chose these colors because they were bright and would easily grab attention to itself. The colors were also used in a way so that they would attract kids.
Eventually, we decided to integrate the logo with the packaging. This meant that borders would be black or white and the center would be transparent so as to reflect the colors from the packaging. For all other official purposes, the given color scheme is followed.
Layout :
This is pretty simple. The entire text was made of the same size to increase visibility and create balance. Also, according to NAFDAC rules, Naijabubble had to be one word and could not be separated.
Font :
The font is rounded and gives the impression of bubbles and it is fun, so it will attract kids (the target audience). The name of the font is Sniglet. After the logo was approved by NAFDAC (see picture) and trademarked by Bonway, I added the TM mark on the top right corner of the logo.
