It was quite a start to the innovation tournament at our school, we smelled the competitiveness mixed with the ac air in the conference hall. As we listened to Mani sir, we clearly see that he was focused on addressing waste management issues in the Samtse Municipality and he told us it aimed to educate us students and the wider community about efficient waste management practices, encourage the utilization of technology, and promote waste reduction and environmental care. To kickstart the process, we were introduced to the "Expression of Interest" Google Form which sir said in the school blog "Equipped with this knowledge, the students left the conference hall, briming with enthusiasm and a clear understanding of the tasks ahead."

Awkward picture of us
Out of 15 teams, we were chosen as one of the 8, which made us thrilled because we had genuinely doubted it since throughout the meeting everyone looked like they were going to break bones. Whatever it was, we were allowed to skip our evening studies and head to the ICT lab for the innovation tournament. This shows how important Innovation Tournament really is.
During the 1st ever training for the innovation tournament, We were inspired and motivated to learn something new and we were also a little competitive. Throughout the course, we received guidance on critical elements to consider when designing an app, which helped us gain a complete understanding of the procedure. With this knowledge in hand, we began developing our first app project and put our newly acquired skills to practice. For nearly a week, we meticulously worked on the app, stayed up past midnight, and received advice and comments from our teachers and parents. Additionally, it was challenging to get us to tell our friends and family about our app and how to use them. Although there were many ups and downs while developing the app, we are quite glad to have done good as rookies.

The three of us except for our designers started by making our own logos before coming up with a final design that combines components of all of our ideas. Three logos were created by each of us. We all sat together and created a new logo at the ICT lab. We started by incorporating the Garuda and the circle surrounding it after finding a Canva logo template that precisely matched their requirements. We also added THE 5RS since the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Report were lengthy. We truly love the final product, and that's it!

We are really grateful to have Mr. Passang, a teacher at Samtse LSS and a popular content creator on Facebook and YouTube with over 600,000 views, for providing us with this training. We were very eager to learn from someone who was so passionate and encouraging. So many enthusiastic Innovators listened with interest as Mr. Passang shared his wisdom on several facets of videography, with a focus on camera movement and the rule of thirds. We studied a wide range of techniques, including panning, tracking, and tilting, in-depth during the training sessions in order to produce dynamic and captivating videos. By the end of the training, we had gained the knowledge we were all eager and hungry for.

Nau Raj being a great help to me
Hello, I'm Namgay, the blogger of team Garuda. My experience blogging with the Other Garudans has been amazing, bursting with teamwork, creativity, and personal growth. To guarantee a captivating blog, we worked together on a number of paragraphs, exchanging ideas and editing one other's writing. Throughout the entire process, we supported one another, gave feedback and provided remarks. It was truly a team effort, and I am especially appreciative to Nau Raj's tireless commitment and competence. We worked as a team to build a blog that not only detailed our experience at the Innovation Tournament but also helped us grow closer. I am thankful for the chance to have worked with Team Garuda since it enhanced my abilities as a blogger and helped me develop a love for working with others on creative projects as well as lifelong friendships. (also I switched from blogger to google sites as I was truly inspired by https://sites.google.com/education.gov.bt/samtselss/home?authuser=0 https://sites.google.com/education.gov.bt/maniwangdi)

For us, starting a documentary-filming adventure has been an exhilarating experience. It has given us the chance to hone our technical abilities, explore our creativity, and learn the art of documentation. We have faced difficulties along the way, opened our minds to fresh ideas, and battled our hunger. We were formally introduced to the principles of videography and made familiar with various camera positions from the start. As we learned more about videography, we came to understand how crucial planning and preparation are. The creation of storyboards and scripts become critical phases in getting engaging video. Our cameraman explored a variety of locations with his camera, from lively roadways to calm landscapes. To produce aesthetically pleasing shots, we found ourselves exploring with camera movements, lighting, and different angles. We encountered obstacles along the way that forced us to step outside of our comfort zone. Our patience and problem-solving abilities were put to the test by adverse weather, technological issues, and unforeseen challenges. However, that did not stop us but taught us perseverance and adaptability were the key to overcoming these challenges and achieving a good end product.

We are overjoyed to have reached 1K in 58 days (6th May-3rd July), which would not have been possible without the help of everyone who contributed. As a result, we, the Garuda team, would want to convey our gratitude to everyone involved in our waste tracking mission! We'd like to thank a wonderful friend in particular for contributing the most submissions; we are very blessed to have her in our lives. Thank you very much for all of your entries, Sonam; we are truly thankful. (EVERYONE NEEDS A SONAM IN THEIR LIFE)
