About us

We are thrilled to have you join us today! We are a team of five individuals working to make a difference, and we are incredibly pleased to have been chosen to compete in this tournament. Being a part of it is certainly a blessing and We are appreciative to everyone who has helped us along the way, especially our parents, teachers, and friends. 

We have teamed together to address the urgent problem of trash tracking and waste management as we have shared goals for building a cleaner, more sustainable Samtse. By giving users access to accurate information as well as practical solutions for efficiently tracking and managing their waste, our app aims to enable people and communities to actively participate in waste management.

The name Garuda holds significant symbolism in our mission. In Tibetan mythology, Garuda represents a legendary bird-like creature known for its immense power and speed. It is considered a sacred creature, associated with protection and purification. Similarly, our app Garuda symbolizes our commitment to protecting the environment and purifying waste management practices.

We have already made progress in terms of trash management as a group. We took part in the UNESCO-sponsored 2022 video project titled "Our Waste, Our Responsibility" at Samtse Lower Secondary School. In that tournament, we earned in first place. 

Together, we believe that by harnessing the power of technology and fostering a sense of collective responsibility, we can make a significant difference in waste management. Garuda Innovations Group is excited to lead the way in revolutionizing waste tracking and inspire positive change in communities worldwide. Our team is a group of five individuals devoted to bringing the people of Samtse a cleaner and greener future. Here are the roles:

Epicollect5 developer

Kuzu Zangpo la, Lekdup Thinley Wangdi and, the app developer for Garuda The WS. We The Garudans are really blessed to be given an opportunity to improve our app development skills through training using Epicollect5 and mobile applications at the innovation tournament. I actually came to understand  value of teamwork and ICT expertise in the twenty-first century while creating this app along with The Garudans. A fruitful outcome was indeed the result of our hard work under a great team work.

Hi, My name is Namgay Dolma and I'm the blogger of my group. The creation of this blog served as a key role to not only keep on updating our team's progress but also to reflect on the past, present, and future activities related to the Innovation Tournament plus communicating with others through this amazing platform. I am happy to share my team's experiences and express my skills. 

Designers

Greetings, we are the designers Nau Raj Pradhan and Jangchub Yeshi Dema. Together, the two of us and my pals designed the final logo with the intention of using Canva to create something professional. As the team's leading designer, we prepared and adjusted the designs. We were heavily involved in everything that connected to designing for this project and were active in every aspect of it.

Documentary editor

Hello, I'm Dhendrup Dorji, the team's editor. The documentary, along with epicollect5 and the blog, was another important route to being selected as one of the top two. With the assistance and encouragement of my brother and other team members, I worked on the video day and night. Although it may not have been the best, our documentary turned out better than we had anticipated. I think it will be excellent with some experts help.  Whatever we did, we gave in our all's, I'm sure of it!
