What is the PTA?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association.

Garden Gate PTA is part of the California State PTA and National PTA. We are a community of parents, teachers, and caregivers working together to enrich every child's educational experience and strengthen our school community.

When does the PTA meet?

The PTA meets once a month, typically on the first Thursday at 2:15 PM in the Staff Lounge. Meetings last about 50 minutes.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and attendance is always optional.

Who can attend PTA meetings?

Everyone is welcome! You do not need to be a PTA member to attend. However, only PTA members may vote on official business.

What happens at a PTA meeting?

PTA meetings include:

• Planning upcoming events

• Reviewing the budget and approving expenses

• Discussing school needs and new ideas

• Sharing volunteer opportunities

Why become a PTA member?

PTA membership gives you a voice in supporting Garden Gate. Members help shape school programs, events, and funding priorities that benefit all students.

Do I have to volunteer if I join the PTA?

No. Membership and volunteering are separate.

Joining the PTA supports our school, but volunteering is always optional. Whether you have lots of time or just a little, we appreciate every contribution.

Why does the PTA raise money?

Direct Donations help fund programs and resources that directly benefit our students, including:

• Classroom aides

• Art (Spectra Art)

• Library services

• Music instruction (K–3)

• Classroom and teacher supplies

• Emergency preparedness supplies

• Project Cornerstone

• School events such as the Book Fair, Fall Celebration, International Night, STEAM Night, Book Exchange, and Literacy Night

These programs would not be possible through school funding alone.

Can I donate a different amount?

Yes! Every contribution helps, and donations of any amount are welcome at any time throughout the year.

What is CEEF?

The Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation (CEEF) is a nonprofit that supports educational programs throughout the Cupertino Union School District. Since 1984, CEEF has funded programs in areas such as teacher training, instructional materials, visual and performing arts, and innovative educational initiatives that benefit every CUSD student.
