Hello 👋, My name is Gabe, and welcome to my website!!!
I am an accounting major and plan to become an accountant in the future.
I am 19 as of March 2025
I am currently creating this site during the Fall Semester of the 2025 academic year.Â
The class I am creating this in is CSIT 101
Over the entire course I have learned many new terms and even small features of applications I have been using for years. I have learned even more about tech than anyone has bothered to ever show me before. My knowledge is expanding and I am grateful for all the hard work you did dealing with so many students and some of us not showing up. I started off learning the name of something I had previously taken for granted, which is called a waffle. I know your first thought was about food, but actually, it refers to the little 9 dots or 3 lines in your email, usually located in the top left corner. We then learned about zip files and how to keep our computers organized. I've yet to organize successfully but have made progress and will continue to do so. I would love to talk about each unit, but let me just sum it all up. I have learned so many new things from this class about applications I took for granted, like Word, Excel, and Outlook. These are amazing and useful sites that help with everyday work, life, and school. I took them for granted, but this class was an eye-opener. I learned about computers, from how convenient it is that we have laptops and phones to what makes a computer work. I learned about how to properly copyright my images and work through this class. I learned about different types of media and how to upload them to a site like the one you're reading this on, as well as the impact of social media. I learned about digital privacy, VPNs, and more, but I think cybersecurity was Unit 4's most important part. Unit 5 was about emerging tech and digital divides, which was an intriguing thing to learn and research about. Unit 6, on the other hand, revisited the most fundamental concepts: knowledge, wisdom, information, and data. Without these there is no technology, advancement nor a past or future for people/humans. These terms throughout all the chapters have taught me a lot and I appreciated these classes' lenience with attendance the most by far. Overall, I have learned a lot in the time I spent in this class and will carry it on to continue to better myself.
