Creative non fiction: Before I knew
The following assignment was for English 327: Creative Nonfiction. The goal of this story was to write about something in your life. I chose to write a memoir about how my view of children with disabilities shifted due to my job. The standards below were met by allowing my readers to feel as if they knew Jen. I had to make sure my grammar, sentence structure, form , and meaning were creatively accurate for my story. I placed stories and vignettes in a certain order to enhance the text as a whole. Language and word choice were also important to me to really get the reader to fully understand Jen's situation. Throughout this piece I was able to grow as a writer and reflect on my actions.
