About me
Hello,
My name is Gabrielle, Gabby, Roach. I am currently an undergraduate at California State University Chico. I will be attending the credential program here at Chico State for the fall semester and will be starting my teaching career in the fall of 2020. I plan to integrate my love for adventures and games in my classroom. I want to help students explore their texts in a way they can relate and have fun with. My drive is to create a classroom culture where my students feels safe and willing to speak through their experiences and perspectives. Other than school, I love to spend my time outdoors with my husband and our two dogs. We often car camp and explore different areas. We have gone down the coast of Oregon, and most of California. Our goal is go to all of the National Parks on the west coast before exploring the east coast.

Teacher Statement:
As a teacher my primary goal is for the students to feel as if they are a part of something. When students feel as if they have agency and everyone does their part it will no longer be teaching, but a place to interact and learn. Besides the general common core standards, I want my future classrooms to learn how to give and get respect. I want them to be able to speak their mind about a certain area and feel comfortable sharing their point of view. I also want to teach students how to work together in small groups and show them how important it is to collaborate with others. I don’t want them to see me as a boss, but a leader who helps guide them down their own path.
