Project Manager: Angela Yang

Hi! I'm Angela and I'm a sophomore interested in a career in computer science, specifically AI. At school, I enjoy public speaking on the speech team, programming in my FRC team, and supporting other girls as president of the Girls Who Code club. Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering and having fun with my friends. I started this GirlsBuild team as a way to work together with other passionate girls towards addressing gender gaps in STEM!

Hello everyone! I'm Angel Yanga, and I am currently a sophomore interested in pursuing a career in the medical field, specifically in cardiology! It may be peculiar to see a person like me in a Hackathon, but, I have been coding since 7th grade and I enjoy CS. I am the Business and Media executive for our FRC Team at school, and I have been doing Model UN since 9th grade. I love learning new things by editing videos, graphics, or any other multimedia. I joined GirlsBuild to collaborate with my fellow peers to effectively diminish the divide between the gender-gap representation of females and non-binary individuals in the STEM field!

Web Designer: Han Zhu

Hello guys! I'm Han Zhu and currently a junior. My favorite subject is math and my least favorite is history. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and watching youtube videos. I joined this GirlsBuild team because the gender gap within the STEM field should be addressed and I want to do my part to close this gap.

File Manager: Lana Thyen

Hello! I'm Lana and I'm a freshman interested in computer science. I enjoy being a part of Rocketry team, Science team, and Code4Students at school. I have been programming since middle school, and have learned more Python through online courses during the pandemic. I also love playing chess online in my free time. I joined G4CSE to inspire other female students and develop their passion for computer science.

Hi! I'm Jennica and I'm currently a junior interested in computer science and math. My favorite class is math and computer science. Outside of school, I like to watch Youtube videos and have fun with my friends. I joined G4CSE to address and close the gender gaps in the STEM field. I also wanted to help female students who wanted to learn more about computer science.

Graphic Designer: Breanne De La Pena

Hello! I'm Breanne and I am currently a sophomore interested in pursuing a career in Engineering, specifically Biomedical Engineering. I am currently part of my school's FRC team, Girls Who Code club, and Robogirls club! Outside of school, I enjoy practicing my dance skills, painting, and spending time with my dog! I joined my school's GirlsBuild team because I am a firm believer that there is a large gender gap in the STEM field, and I wish to address this problem throughout my time as a student as well as a working adult.

Co-Social Media Manager: Laila Haney

Hi there! I'm Laila and I am a senior interested in Forensic Science CSI work, specifically Forensic Pathology. I am currently part of Granada's ASB class, IB program, and Co-Founder of Code4Students Volunteer club. Outside of school, I have a passion for music, reading, and spending time with my friends! I joined the GirlsBuild team because I want to help eliminate the inequalities in CS and work towards a better future for the field, and I believe I can help by just starting within our community! I think it is extremely significant to provide students with easy access and easy-to-learn programs, to make coding and CS less intimidating overall. It is important to empower young women and joining and participating in GirlsBuild is an amazing way to do this!
