We are currently working very hard to upgrade this site in Birkirkara to house our NURSERY and GARDEN. We meet every Tuesday (evenings), Thursday (evenings) and Saturday (afternoons in Winter, evenings in Summer). If anyone wishes to help in any way, please contact us through any of the communication channels you can find in the Contact Us section .
Volunteers meet weekly to help organise the site and take care of the saplings. If interested to help both physically and financially please contact us by email or via messenger by clicking here. Keep following this section for updates.
On April 24, 2021, G10T signed a five-year agreement with Christus Sacerdos Retirement Home, commonly known as Dar tal-Keru in B'kara, to assist in the construction of a unique botanical garden. This garden will be the only one of its kind in Malta, featuring hundreds of local trees and plants organized into distinct habitats.
Accessible to both the workers and residents of the home, as well as the general public during nursery open hours, the garden will serve multiple purposes. G10T will utilize the site as their nursery and educational focal point, aiming to plant as many of the 60 local varieties of trees as possible, along with a large variety of local shrubs and plants.
In addition to preserving local flora, the garden will act as a source of local seeds for propagation. The designated site spans approximately 3,000 square meters and includes an independent entry point located to the right of the home’s main gate, just before entering the complex.
Before completion of the Botanical Garden and nursery, there is plenty of hard work that needs doing...and together with this, loads of expenses. Anyone who would like to help physically or financially kindly contact us on messenger through this link here.

Here is a 2023 google image clearly showing the greenhouse , dry-stone walls, the reservoir (top right) partly roofed over, and the shading over parts of the nursery area. The area in the middle covered with dry weeds will be the site for the botanical garden, now in its initial stages
We are excited to present solid models showcasing the lower area of our upcoming project, which includes the following components:
Educational Hall
Reservoir (complete - located beneath the educational hall)
Rest Room (on RHS of main gate - not shown)
Greenhouse with upgraded entrance
Estimated Costs: We anticipate that the expenses for this phase could reach up to €20,000, assuming careful management of resources.
Funding Strategy: These costs will be offset through the sale of saplings from our nursery.
Call for Support: We welcome any financial assistance or sponsorship for this project. Rest assured, all required Planning Authority permits are already in place.
Thank you for your consideration and support!
We are proud to announce the collaboration between the NGO ACT and G10T. Both ACT and G10T propagate local species from locally collected seeds and have been working closely for some time now. In this respect, ACT has helped G10T by providing about 6500 square pots made from recycled plastic. These pots will help G10T in propagating new stock to step up production in the new nursery. We would like to thank ACT for this and look forward to further co-operation.
THANKS!
