Improved use of Azure DevOps for a large Programme

A utility client, sought assistance in enhancing the agile Way of Working and backlog management at the Programme level, using Azure DevOps. 

Role
Collaborating closely with stakeholders and product owners, I played a pivotal role in orchestrating the efficient handling of backlog items, requests, and requirements through the adoption of Azure DevOps.

 Actions

• Restructured the Backlog for the Delivery team, optimizing its organization and prioritization.

• Expanded the Backlog to encompass the entire program scope, including Architecture, Data Migration, and Testing Tasks.

• Instituted a centralized Action Log to streamline the management of general program tasks.

• Enhanced reporting efficiency by developing streamlined dashboards within Azure DevOps.

 Outcomes

The program experienced an enhanced overall management structure, introducing greater transparency into task workflows. Notably, the implementation of dashboards featuring insightful reports proved instrumental in maintaining a vigilant eye on delivery performance, providing a valuable tool for decision-makers within the Programme.
