Agile Strategy for Financial Regulations

A financial client faced the challenge of dealing with a regulatory update.

Role
In the capacity of a PMO consultant and SAFe Scrum Master,  I discuss with the PO, the PMO team and the regulatory team to find an optimal approach, usable for future updates.

 Actions

• Trained team and PO to treat the regulatory update as a normal PBI, initially as a Spike to investigate further

• Meet and set up regular cetch-up with the policy team

• Adapt acceptance criteria, including the regulatory impacts 

• Proposal for a community of practice on regulatory issues

 Outcomes

The client was able to use this approach and implement improvements across the organisation, treating regulatory compliance as a BAU.
