Follow-up: If a student or parent has questions after the consultation, they can email Liam. Emails will be answered within 48 hours. Individual in-person or online follow-on appointments are not provided.

how it works
The three-stage process I have developed and refined over the years for CAO and / or UCAS applications takes quite a bit of time, from the point of view of the student and also for myself. Let me explain ...
Stage 1 - The Pre-Consultation Deep Dive
Once a booking is made, I send a range of career interest tests by email to be printed by the student at home, together with weblinks to other tests which are completed online. The student also fills in a detailed and confidential biographical questionnaire on educational history, hobbies, interests, etc., that I have developed myself. The tests used are a range of occupational interest tests, an online aptitude test (and a personality assessment, if the student is old enough). The interest inventories and occupational tests used are on the Department of Education's recommended list of psychometric instruments for use in schools in Ireland.
The time commitment involved for the student will be about 4 hours. So this is not something to be undertaken lightly. This work should be spread over three or four days, so I would advise that you book an appointment for a date that gives the student enough time to complete everything.
The student returns the completed tests by email and I set to work on drawing up a detailed career guidance report with suggested options for the student. This work takes me about 3 hours.
Stage 2 - The Appointment
All the work done beforehand frees up time on the day of the appointment for me to discuss the results on a one-to-one basis with the student and provide feedback. I take the student through the report and answer any questions. Suggestions are offered for suitable college courses, based on the test results.
An appointment for subject choice will usually last between 90 and 120 minutes. The appointment can take place in person, or remotely in a virtual environment via Google Meet. Regardless of which option is preferred, the exact same service is provided.
Stage 3 - The Written Report
After the appointment, I finalise the comprehensive career guidance report and send it to the student by email.
So you are essentially paying for my time (5 hours), my research and my professional advice.
