Funko began in 1998 when Mike Becker created the company with a bobblehead line called Wacky Wobblers. The company is now massive with pop culture enthusiasts and collectors gushing over the company and its collectibles. The company's most successful line debuted in 2010, the Pop! Vinyl figure. Funko’s Funkovision gave people a way to revisit the old cartoons that they love. Funko changed forever in 2005 when Brian Mariotti took over the company. He pushed out some statue-like figures and then the company created its own original characters. Funko then created baby sized vinyl figures which were created in the forms of Mickey Mouse, Darth Vader and more. Funko now has its own documentary on Netflix.

Funko was created in 1998 by Mike Becker who created the business because he couldn't find an affordable coin bank of Big Boys mascot. He got the licence to the Big Boy mascot very quickly. The company jumped forward when they got the licence to Austin Powers. Funko started to get giant licences and Brian Mariotti eventually bought the company. They eventually created the Pop! Vinyl figures which sold greatly. Funko was eventually sold to a private equity firm named Fundamental Capital. Funko would then move headquarters. They would then open a new headquarters that was a retail store. They eventually became a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ stock exchange but they still maintained their collectible personality.
