Travel Information

The Physics department should be entered from its main entrance on Prince Consort Road, as in the map below. Coming in through that main entrance you should see a registration desk for the conference, and also signs that should direct you to Lecture Theatre 2 (LT2).

For very detailed directions on reaching LT2 from the Blackett entrance see this page.

The physics department is at the North West corner of the Imperial college campus in South Kensington -- see the map below. It is a short 10-15 minute walk from the Underground stations Gloucester Road and South Kensington (both on the District, Circle and Picadilly lines)

Air: London's main international airports are Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and City. From Heathrow, Imperial College can be reached by taking a direct Piccadilly line Underground service from the airport terminals to South Kensington. This takes approx 45 minutes - 1 hour. From Gatwick airport, one may take a regular train or (the more expensive and slightly quicker) Gatwick Express train to Victoria Underground station, and then South Kensington is a few stops on the Underground District line.

Rail: Imperial College is easily reached by Underground from London's main rail termini, whether for domestic (National Rail) or international (Eurostar) rail services.

For those travelling by Underground, the Physics department is closest to Gloucester Road and South Kensington stations, both of which are served by the Piccadilly, District and Circle lines. Buses 9, 10, 49, 52, 70, 74, 360 and 452 stop reasonably close to the venue.
