On August 7, 2026, at approximately 14:45, Fulton County Deputies, FCEMA, and Fairview Rescue responded to a fatal vehicle accident at the intersection of North East Street and West Carter Street in Fairview. The incident involved a semi-truck that had collided with a tree.
While en route, the first responding deputy immediately requested additional assistance from the Illinois State Police. At 14:48, Fairview Rescue was notified that extrication equipment would be required at the scene.
By 14:52, Copperas Creek Rescue was also requested for extrication support. At the same time, deputies reported a 10-79 fatality, which triggered a 15-minute radio delay. The Fulton County Coroner has since put out a social media post regarding this.
