On April 1st, 2026, a radio transmission indicated a call about a woman held captive in Avon. The initial call was at 9:49 for a welfare check. A radio delay for all incoming traffic was implemented at 12:28 pm yesterday, 04/02, due to a high-priority call. The same day, Verizon did a cell phone ping as an attempt to find the woman's location at 11:20 am. At 11:29 am, Verizon stated her phone had been shut off for 4 days, and no exact location was found.
At around 6:45 pm, an SRT (Special Response Team) Van was seen in Avon. All law enforcement personnel were on an encryption channel during this time. The officers then located the male and put him into custody.
The suspect, Corey Sloan, was in custody, and according to the booking record, was charged with the following:
Domestic Battery x2
Unlawful Restraint
Interference W/ Emergency Communication
