We are actively looking for New Lab Members!

Our lab is located on the Riken Wako campus. The Wako campus is just around the corner of downtown Tokyo (-15min by train). You will enjoy the unique, beautiful culture and modernized Tokyo life!

The great benefit of working in the Wako campus is that you can interact with diverse researchers in STEM fields. Our lab is a part of the Riken Hakubi Program where talented junior scientists conduct world-leading research projects. The program aims to foster daily interactions among young, enthusiastic researchers across multiple disciplines.

Our lab co-belongs to Riken CBS (Center for Brain Science). Riken CBS is an excellent neuroscience community studying the brain function with multidisciplinary approaches and aims to solve challenging questions at all levels from molecular, cellular to individuals and social systems.

Please feel free to contact me (terufumifujiwara (at) gmail.com) if you are interested in our lab's research topic. Candidates with strong expertise in neural recordings and quantitative data analysis will be highly appreciated. That said, our lab welcomes enthusiastic researchers from any background. I am particularly interested in collaborating with people from engineering and physics who bring unconventional perspectives to neuroscience.

There are a couple of ways to join our team:

For Postdocs

1) I have an internal budget to hire postdocs. Please contact me directly.

2) JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) provides a postdoc fellowship dedicated to researchers from abroad

The deadline is around May and September every year

3) You have an additional opportunity to apply for Riken's internal postdoc fellowship (the deadline is around April every year).

For Ph.D. students

1)  Riken has strong collaborations with many universities abroad. You can apply for the position through these joint

graduate school partnership programs (the deadline is in April and October every year).

2)  Riken also collaborates with several partner universities in Japan. You can also apply for graduate programs at these

        universities.

We can discuss further possibilities, so don't hesitate to contact me!!
