WEEK 1
WEEK 1
STAYING INSPIRED
You know how novels are turned into films? That’s how I see the relationship of the study of the education and its eventual practice.
When we read novels, we imagine how the characters look like, their features and personalities. We visualize the sceneries, the office building, school, the administrator building, canteens, and where the protagonist goes to everyday, the tree under which the love interest reads his/her books, the alley where the lead confesses his/her love, unending stressed, loadworks and among others. As we read them, it gives us a preview of what it could have really been in real life. Then when it is transformed into a movie, somehow, these imaginations are realized.
That’s how I think practice is.
We read tons and tons of learning materials in preparation of our lesson, daily lesson plan, quiz, PowerPoint presentations, classroom activities and assignments, rules, concepts, and theories. We know them in theory. We memorized them by heart as though we are on deck for recitation. We know which part of the lessons, curriculum guide, parts of the lesson are placed. We know where to find them.
Upon being immersed and when I finally engaged in education practice, the rules were no longer just words or reglementary periods but have become true to life scenes like in a movie. It gave me a deeper appreciation and understanding of the education and rules and made me realize how things that seemed so complicated in education school were just really simple in reality.
#GetTheThreeLetters
The first day of my off-campus journey was indeed ineffably great! I’m enthralled to meet my RT, Mrs. Virginia Pascua, and my almost 80 students coming from the different Grade 7 and Grade 8 regular classes of INNHS, during my observation class. Likewise, I got acquainted with the UBD elements – explore, firm up, deepen and transfer.
I am optimistic that I would be able to carry out these elements when my turn in teaching arrives. As to my students, though they are not in higher sections, still I am grateful because I see in them their desire to learn.
I hope I would be able to influence their lives positively as I teach in them not only the lessons on the exploratory course of Bread and Pastry Production but also lessons in life. I expect them to be environmentally-conscious and socially aware individuals under my tutelage. Likewise, I hope that I would be able to memorize all their names; I have until the end of November to do that.
Today was just the beginning of my journey towards the real world of teaching. Little by little, my dream to become an educator is now coming into fruition. Teaching… would always be my passion and mission alike.
I together with my groupmates, Ana B. Longui and Sekinh R. Hosseini Azimi are ready to take this another wave of memory! Above are some of the photos of what's GANAP sa INNHS: FS Journey ni Teacher Wynwyn!
