Hello, and welcome to my FS World - both IN-CAMPUS and OFF-CAMPUS journey! This site is about my journey as a Field Study student. This E- portfolio served as my reflection tool to reflect on the things that I have observed during the observation period. As a matter of fact, you will get to learn about me, my goals as I relate myself to the real world of teaching.

Field Study 1

This is the first experiential course, which will immerse a future teacher to actual classroom situation and learning environment where direct observation of teaching learning episodes that focuses on the application of educational theories learned in content and pedagogy courses will be made. Observations on learner’s behavior motivation, teacher’s strategies of teaching, classroom management, and assessment in learning among others shall be given emphasis. Likewise, this course is designed to help FS students in validating the diversity among learners in the actual learning environment. It will require them to recognize feasible approaches to facilitate learning considering the learner’s different phases of development and social environment. A portfolio shall be required in the course.

Field Study 2

This course is a continuation of Field Study 1. It is school based and allows a pre-service student to participate and assist in a limited actual teaching-learning activities that relate to assessment of learning, preparation of instructional materials, preparation of bulletin boards and other routines in the classroom. A portfolio which will contain sample lesson or learning plans and demonstration teaching of at least one subject content area will be required. Action research shall be encouraged to start in this course and conclude during the internship.

My ultimate goal is to change the lives of people. Studying to be a teacher is hard. All of the required classes that are required, all of the practicums, and all of the time spent just to become a teacher are stressful, but the thought of being able to help just one person changes everything.

It takes one person to be a light in someone’s life. It takes one person to be a helping hand. It takes one person to change an unmotivated, broken life and make it brand new. Teachers are those people. We motivate students to do their best, we guide students to success when no one else will, and we are always available to listen. One teacher can change the lives of thousands of students. That is my motivation.

I know that after college, hopefully graduated on time and passing the BLEPT on my first try, I will be a teacher, a guide, a counselor, and a friend to so many students. No matter how many bad days I have or how many times I want to quit, I just think of what is to come in the future. I can be that change this world needs, even if it's in a small high school classroom. It just takes one person.

I aspire to make a difference in others’ lives through education. I’m studying to be a TLE or Tech-Voch school teacher because I believe that children can achieve so much more if they learn early of their potential.

Before, taking up the course "education", I have two reasons in my mind. First, I want to be successful, and second my parents dream is to have a teacher in the family (since it is absolutely running on our blood). So, by then I take up the course education. And I need to choose a specific major in secondary level. Choosing my major become not so hard for me, because since I was high school, I always love TLE subjects (Technology and Livelihood Education). This subject do have space in my heart, maybe this is me. This is my passion, and this is were my skills suited..

Education has always been my priority. My parents always stressed the importance of obtaining an education, having missed that opportunity themselves. My parents taught me as a child that schooling was vital to success in life. Truly, that lesson has been the most important in my path to college. I don’t think I would’ve made it this far had I not taken my education seriously.

I want to teach others about the importance of education so they too can prosper. Everything I’m learning at university is important for my future career and, if I don’t study it, I’m failing my future students. Every child deserves the best education available and I should strive to be the best educator possible to provide that for them. When balancing academics, work, and my social life, it can get challenging to keep going. But, with the future of children’s education in my hands, I always get back on track.
