Trees & Tomes – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
The short version
Trees & Tomes does not collect, transmit or share any of your data. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising.
What the app stores
Everything you enter – your books, ratings, notes, highlights, shelf layout, settings, and any EPUB files you add – is stored only on your own device, in the app's private storage. It never leaves your device unless you choose to export a backup file yourself. The app has opted out of Android's automatic cloud backup, so it is not copied to your Google account or to any other device.
Network access
The app does not request permission to use the internet, so Android does not allow it to connect to any network. It works entirely offline and contains no third-party tracking, analytics or advertising code. Because of this, a book that refers to images or other content hosted online will show without that content.
Backups and deletion
You can export a backup file at any time from the app's Settings and choose where it is saved. That file is yours: it stays wherever you saved it, and the app cannot see or delete it afterwards, so delete it yourself if you no longer want it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android's settings, permanently deletes everything the app itself stores on the device. Because nothing is held anywhere else, I cannot recover or delete your data for you.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date.
