Magpie keeps the records you create on your own device. It has no accounts,
no ads and no analytics, and it does not have permission to use the internet,
so the app itself never sends your information anywhere.
Everything you put into Magpie: names and descriptions of things, categories,
tags, dates, prices, serial and model numbers, locations, notes, schedules,
connections between things, and any photos or documents you attach.
All of it is kept in Magpie's own private storage on your device. The
developer cannot see it, receive it or recover it.
It does not ask you to create an account or sign in.
It does not collect personal information.
It does not use analytics or crash reporting.
It does not show ads.
It does not share anything with anyone.
It cannot connect to the internet: it does not have the permission to.
Camera. Only when you choose to take a photo for a record. The photo is saved inside Magpie. This is optional, and Magpie works without it.
Notifications. To show the reminders and warranty notices you choose to switch on. They are scheduled and shown on your device.
Run after restart, and keep the device awake briefly. These are used by the reminder system so that reminders you have set are scheduled again after your device restarts and are delivered on time. Magpie uses them for nothing else.
When you make a backup or a spreadsheet, Magpie saves the file to the
Documents folder on your device and offers the standard Android share menu.
If you pick an app from that menu, such as email or cloud storage, the file
goes to that app because you chose it, and that app's own privacy policy
applies from then on.
A backup contains everything you have stored, including photos, so keep it
somewhere you trust.
Android can include an app's data in a backup of your whole device to your
Google account, if you have that switched on in your device settings. That is
done by Android and your Google account, not by Magpie, and you control it in
your device settings.
You can delete a record inside Magpie. Deleted records are kept for 30 days in
Recently Deleted so you can bring them back, then removed. Clearing Magpie's
data in Android settings, or uninstalling it, deletes everything it holds on
your device.
Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing to ask the
developer to delete.
Magpie is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone.
If Magpie ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be
updated before the change is released, and the date above will change.
