The Secrets of Beads 'Imfihlo Yobuhlalu'

Brick stitch is a traditional stitch used in South Africa and is often taught first.

Zulu ‘love letters’ are a good example.

It is very strong and has two characteristics:

It is ‘offset’ like bricks in a house - not in rows and columns like graph paper.

The beads stand ‘upright’.

The tutorial below can be paused and played as needed.

It will automatically loop.
