In order to fully test the network before deployment, we focused on two areas, coverage and speed.
Coverage
Coverage
Unifi’s built in mapping tool is great for identifying weak coverage areas. We use the 5G coverage map as all of our access points are using 5G to mesh. You will need to load a map of your property and set the scale to ensure the coverage is as accurate as possible.
Recommendation
Adding walls in the Unifi mapping tool will increase the accuracy. Click on the pencil icon on the left side menu to add a wall.

CalSPEED Mobile App
CalSPEED Mobile App
The CalSPEED mobile app measures the quality of your mobile broadband service as well as the speed.
The CalSPEED project includes consumer smartphone apps to acquire crowdsourced results from consumer tests. Crowdsourced data appears as a selectable data layer on the Interactive Broadband Map and is used for estimating mobile broadband availability. The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) offers CalSPEED on both the iPhone and on Android devices.
