Recommendation

• Access points should be installed in an outdoor location that is less likely to be tampered with or subject to interference.
• Switches, Cloud Key, Firewalls, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) injectors should be installed in a location that is easily accessible to staff/vendors. Troubleshooting often requires direct physical access to the equipment. Not having to consider weather or special safety equipment (e.g. lifts, ladders, etc) will assist with a quicker response.
• Ideally, the electrician would install the junction box. If they do, no need to purchase additional boxes.
• The outlet should be connected to a circuit that is considered “house power”. Meaning, that it is not associated with a resident’s apartment.
