What Happens Next?
After you have applied, you need to do several things:
☑️ Send your supervisor the Recommendation Form.
☑️ Complete and submit the Student Commitment Form.
☑️ Submit a current photo.

What are the next steps in the selection process?
To ensure consistency in the selection process, a small team of interviewers and counselors will be used:
o Each team will consist of an Interviewer whose primary task is to ensure the applicant meets
the basic requirements of the scholarship program and who rank orders the applicants
o Each team will also have a Counselor whose primary task is to learn the applicant's assets, liabilities, and areas which may adversely impact the applicant's academic success. The Counselor will be assigned to the applicant from the time of the interview throughout the school-year
Each applicant will be interviewed no later than April 14, 2025.
The interviewee will discuss the academic goals and any extenuating circumstances the student may have
Re-applying applicants are to complete the application process with emphasis on any changes that have occurred since the last application. (such as school change major change, and/or changes to extenuating circumstances.)
If the applicant is out of the area during the interview period, a telephonic interview may be arranged if a mutually agreeable time can be arranged with the selection team
When will I know if I have received a scholarship?
Recipients will be notified in early- to mid-May regarding the status of their application. All recipients are expected to attend the Awards Ceremony, where the grants will be offered publicly.
☑️ Check your phone messages, texts, and emails frequently for information from the Scholarship Committee regarding interviews and any questions they may have about your application.
☑️ Be sure to alert the Scholarship Committee if your mailing address, email address, or cell phone number change.
What will be my responsibilities if I am awarded a scholarship?
Attend the award ceremony
Regularly attend classes, turn in all required assignments, and maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA
Stay in communication with your assigned "counselor" - a member of the Scholarship Committee who will monitor your academic progress, handle your requests for reimbursements, financial matters, and discuss any area of concern.
How much money will I receive and how will it be distributed?
Funds will be dispersed to the recipient's school or directly to the recipient, in consultation with the assigned counselor. Money, up to $3,000, will be available for eligible expenses incurred from June 1st of the year the award is received until May 31st of the following year (Scholarship Year).
Expenses eligible for reimbursement include tuition and related fees, books, school supplies, items related to a particular course, institutional fees, and parking fees. Students are also eligible for a one-time reimbursement of up to $500 (included in the $3,000 scholarship) toward a computer, tablet, or printer.
Reimbursable items must be directly related to the student’s pursuit of a degree or certification in their chosen field of endeavor. Long-term debt, rent, clothing, cell phones, travel expense, and entertainment are not eligible for reimbursement.
Please consult your counselor for assistance with reimbursement requests. Then you can use the Reimbursement Request Form found on this website or fill out a paper form and submit it to your counselor.
