2022 Essay Contest Results
Eight Fulton County middle school students submitted essays to our contest which our judges declared were EXEMPLARY efforts.

Additional middle school students submitted essays evaluated to be written at the merit level; those students received certificates via their schools.
Merit certificates were earned by Mariam Ahmed of Clarke County's Barrow Elementary, and Alexis Cannon of Cobb County's Campbell High School for their essays.
The Freedom to Read Georgia student essay contest provides an opportunity for Georgia K-12 students to share their opinions on and feelings about having a wide range of choices in reading. Judges representing Georgia Library Media Association and Georgia Council of Teachers of English determine essay designations as exemplary, merit, and participant for elementary, middle, and high school contest levels. Essays are reviewed by the contest rubric by at least two judges from their school level with identifying information removed.
