Kainers, have you ever hear about Sea-Teacher before? If you haven’t, let me give information.
🤔 : What Is Sea-Teacher?
😄: SEA-Teacher is acronym of Pre-Service Students Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia. This is a project held by SEAMEO as a mandatory to achieve revitalizing teacher education especially to improve education quality in Southeast Asia.
🤔 : Are every major can participate on SEA-Teacher?
😄: No. SEA-Teacher only provided for Faculty of Education and Teacher (in Indonesia known as Faculty of Teaching and Training Education/FTTE) especially for students whom majors Math, Science, English, Pre-school Education, Elementary/Primary School, Economics, Physical Education, and Social Studies.
🤔 : How long duration of this program?
😄: One month (4 week)
🤔 : What language used during this program?
English, but it is plus point if you know your destination country’s language.
🤔 : How about selection and funding for this program?
😄: It different each universities. For more information you can ask person in charge (PIC) at your university.
🤔: Where I can get about more information about SEA-Teacher?
😄: For bunch information, I suggest you to visit SEA-Teacher’s official website. On that website they provide official information and up to date. SEA-Teacher website provide information about SEA-Teacher, news, mechanism, participating institutions, institution database form, find partnership, documents, and student’s story. It will help you during your SEA-Teacher journey.

If Kainers are Undana students, I’ll share you about Undana’s SEA-Teacher Project based on my experience.
🤔 : Is Undana participated on SEA-Teacher?
😄: Of course, that’s why I write this blog. This year (2024) Undana participated on SEA-Teacher Project Batch 10. I think for future (next batch) Undana will participate again. So prepare yourself.
🤔 : Which semester students can participate?
😄: This program give special privilege for students on 4th grade (semester 7). If you students under 4th grade, do be panic because you have a chance as long you has taken and pass microteaching subject.
🤔 : What skill I must have for this program?
😄: In my opinion, there are some skill you must have for this program
English skills; English is main language during this program. You must have English skills like speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
Teaching skill; On this program you will being teaching assistant and do teaching practice. So, you must have teaching skill, it contains preparing lesson plans; do teaching in classroom (interaction with students; manage class; etc.); and do reflection and evaluation.
Adaptability; like I mention before, this program is Student Exchange, so you will move from your country and go to another country. May your destination country has different culture, weather, and habits with your country. So, you must adapt and deal with it. You will do your best. On first week (few days) maybe you will fell exhausting or depress but believe me, it will give you life lesson and at the end of program you realize you are blessed with that experiences.
So, that are skills I can share.
🤔 : If I selected and being awardee, what should I do next?
😄: You prepare some important document such passport, Curriculum Vitae (CV), Student’s formal photo, Student’s id card’ Identity card (KTP), certificate of health. Then fill biodata form and parent consent.
I recommend you to prepare your stuff earlier so on the last minute you do in the rush and stress prepared it, so you rest your body and mind for long flight and amazing journey.

😄: You can get information about it when you already being awardee.
🤔 : Where I can get information about this program?
😄: You can get information from your department coordinator. Better if you have initiative to ask to your department coordinator so you can get clear information.
