Academic Experience:
NASA Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) Innovation and Tech Transfer Idea Competition (MITTC) Fall 2023
Working alongside five other students, we selected a NASA patent to revolve a product and business around. We analyzed the market's current competitors, and developed a business plan. Our product incorporated the NASA Shape Memory Alloy Rock Splitter for use in the deep sea mining industry. Once developing the product/business we competed against other schools, by presenting and pitching our product to NASA employees and business coaches.
Texas Space Grant Consortium (TSGC) Fall 2023
Working with five other Lone Star students, we chose a NASA patent to incorporate into a new product that would be sold commercially. After the semester-long work creating the product we presented a 10 minute presentation, competing against 19 other teams/schools.
Honors and Achievements:
Honors College Chancellor's Fellows (2022-2024) - Honors AS with twenty-seven (27)
of the sixty (60) hours earned comprised of honors credits. Each honors course
incorporates the development of a research question, a formal proposal, a written
component according to the discipline, and an end-of-semester presentation. Full
scholarship, including international capstone travel.

As an hourly manager, I work alongside the owner to maintain restaurant standards, customer and Outbacker relations, internal communication and strive to achieve overall quality and consistency on a daily basis. With a leadership position in the company I use a “whatever it takes” attitude in helping the restaurant management team, Outbackers and customers.

Supervisor Dr Helen McDowell “Tuberculosis Meningitis: A More Effective Treatment Plan using Prednisone” This project proposes an experiment to develop the most effective treatment plan for Tuberculosis Meningitis, through the use of steroids. The experiment would further the treatment of children, as this disease continues to be prevalent in underdeveloped countries.

Supervisor Prof. Charles Kennedy “The Gender Wage Gap for Women in STEM Fields: How Occupational Gaps Drive Wage Differences.” This project compared the salaries of women and men in various fields, in order to gain an understanding of the continual discrimination between genders in the workforce.

Supervisor Prof. Doctor Lee Gregory “The Influence of Rock Music on Society’s Drug Culture: An Analysis of 80’s and 90’s Rock Music” This project determines the intersection and influence of music on society’s drug culture, this study analyzes rock songs from the 1980 and 90’s to show the influence song writers have on the perception and ultimately the glorification of opioid use.

Supervisor Prof. Shuang Zhoa “From Exiles to Cancel Culture; A Comparative Analysis of 21st Century Cancel Culture and 17th Century Exiles” This project gained an understanding of the internet’s role in current cancel culture, this project compares the similarities and differences between exiles of early centuries and recent examples of the phenomenon in order to determine the consequences on society for cancel culture.

Supervisor Prof. Doctor Fiona Ross, “The Politics of Oil & Gas in Texas: Regulatory Failure, Voluntary Compliance, and Adaptive Demands” This project assesses the connection between ExxonMobil’s and Occidental Petroleum Corp. strategies with key Texas legislation compared to federal legislation surrounding the reduction of CO2 emissions, to shed light on the urgency of reducing Texas emission levels.
