Sunshine Math

Sunshine Math Program

The Franklin School PTO invites you and your child to participate in the Sunshine Math program. Sunshine Math is a program that was developed by the Florida Panhandle Education Consortium, and was designed as a voluntary supplement to your child’s current math homework to enhance his/her journey through mathematics.

For most children, it is best to complete one worksheet a week and return it to school on Fridays. Alternatively, you can work on the worksheets at your own pace as long as you bring the required amount of completed worksheets by the Milestone date:

MILESTONE 1: January 4, 2019—Worksheets for Weeks 1-8 completed

MILESTONE 2: March 8, 2019 --- Worksheets for Weeks 1-16 completed

MILESTONE 3: May 17, 2019 --- Worksheets for Weeks 1-25 completed

At the end of each Milestone, those students who have turned in their worksheets will have their names posted on the Sunshine Math Bulletin Board outside the cafeteria. At the end of the school year, we will have an Award Ceremony for all of the students who have completed the program, presenting each with a certificate of completion.

Please remember that this is voluntary and meant to be a fun way to supplement your child’s current math homework. Students should try each problem on their own, but can have help from an adult or older sibling along the way. The worksheets are not graded by program volunteers, but rather marked as completed.

Please note: The Sunshine Math program for Kindergarteners only runs for 10 weeks, and starts on March 8, 2019. By this time of the school year, kindergarteners are better prepared to start working on their worksheets.
