Sadler Cemetery, located on North Jackson Avenue, in Russellville, Alabama, is believed to have originally been owned by William R. Sadler and his wife Nancy Turner Moreland.
The cemetery was established in 1830 and is one of the oldest burial grounds in Russellville.
Some of the most prominent founding members are buried here. Among them are four doctors, four lawyers, two probate judges and a state representative.
The oldest grave is that of Rev. David Owen who died in 1830.
There are approximately 73 graves, with the most recent being that of James A. Drake, who died in 1945.
This cemetery was added to the Alabama Historical Cemetery Register on April 29, 2013.Â
