October 13, 2020 • Travel Blog • Sula’s Bus Stop, Barili Cebu
My siblings were totally nagging dad about making a quick stop in this beautiful spot in Barili, Cebu. It’s the captivating view of the island’s southern edge that makes it irresistible! High tide or low, you can surely witness the majestic view of the ocean as if inviting you for a dive before you resume your travel. In fact, we really couldn’t stand it anymore, so we sure did a stop to take photos and this was just one of the hundred bunch we took from one side of the road alone.
On the other side of the road, there’s a restaurant that serves various scrumptious food, chips, and drinks that are our all-time favorites. Also, there’s a huge parking lot for buses and other modes of transportation where you can stop for free. There are very accommodating, hospitable and friendly people in charge so you’ll perfectly enjoy your stay as they cater only the best service for you.
Undeniably, it was a perfect spot for the business to be located in as the edge of the island highlights the beautiful ocean and the mountains which are extremely hard to resist and ultimately harder to leave. When you get there, you’ll feel yourself turn into stone on your seat for getting so mesmerized by the view. Simultaneously, you’ll feel yourself melt as you savor the mouth-watering dine. It’s absolutely like hitting two birds with one stone when you visit and dine in this place.
I bet it’s not only me who gets that mini heartache every time we pass by such beautiful places as this, realizing we can’t actually stay a little while longer. I promise, my inner child deep inside purely just wants to see how the place looks like in the sunset. Also, I want to wait till night to witness the city lights gleaming in the water, the stars sparkle like dust in the dark violet sky, and if by any chance see the moon. Sadly, the thing about quick stops is that it happens QUICK, and so we had to say goodbye to this beauty before we even want to.
♣ The breathtaking view
♣ Yummy Food
♣ Free Parking
♣ Kind People
These are the best things you can get upon your stop in Barili. You shouldn’t miss out! People have been visiting the area for the kind of experience that only the EDGE OF THE ISLAND can give. Seize the moment and don’t miss out!
Drop by and take a minute to chill from the ride at Barili, Cebu. The yummy food, kind and beautiful people and the ethereal view is waiting for you.
October 12, 2019 • Travel Blog • Tagines Falls, Barangay Budlot Moalboal, Cebu
It was a wild hot summer day in Alcantara, Cebu and my cousins were thinking about going for a splash somewhere in the heart of the province. Rumors were spreading about this wonderful place they call Tagines Falls located in Moalboal Cebu, and it set a wide trend on social media pinning it to people’s bucket lists. The curiosity of my little cousins was just so wild, and we couldn’t help but try to find a way to get to this beautiful destination.
Yes, the place was indeed worth the spot in your travel goals list because of its undeniable beauty and tranquil ambiance, but no, the road leading there wasn’t an easy one to take. Well, we didn’t take the easy path going here anyway, so I guess that explains it, but to see if the destination was worth the risk at the end of the journey, we definitely dared travel through the dangers.
Yes, the dangers! I can’t count how many times I held my breath in the front seat of the truck we were riding on every time the road went rough and steep; not to mention how narrow the road was in the first place and the deep cliffs we passed by. Crossing my fingers the entire ride, wishing silently that we don’t lose engine power along the way. If we did, I already have a billion crazy potential scenarios in my head that I’m expecting to happen (and I mean that hastily).
Bet you have now a grasp of what the road actually looks like. But, no matter how hard it was to get to this place, the moment you hear the water splashing heavily and the people jumping one by one, you’ll forget the dangers it took to be there. The moment you finally see the exact spot, you’ll definitely want to dive right into the inviting water!
Cold as ice the water was and the current so strong that I had to cling my bone-built self to my mom, hoping the water doesn't drag me along the river straight through the bottom of the falls. You can really feel the natural vicinity and the rawness of nature as you embrace the serenity brought by this then-secret place.
There’s not much to say, as words will surely fail to define the new wonders this place brings you. Indeed, it was worth the risky road, and I sure had a wonderful time in Tagines
♣ There are two roads leading to the Falls: One is in Kandabong-Lawaan Alcantara road, the other is in Moalboal, Cebu near Petron Gasoline Station.
♣ Rough road alert! But if you’re up for wild rides, it’s perfectly fine for an adventurous soul. As they say…
Difficult roads often lead to a beautiful destination. ♥
♣ 20 PHP entrance fee for access to the falls. Now, I suggest you don’t negotiate and bid lower than this friendly fee, for the money raised will be used for maintenance purposes.
♣ Upon arriving at the location, there is a cost-free COLD spring. Beware of its ICE-COLD temperature and freshness!
♣ Mini stores are available with chips products and drinks. Friendly sales ladies are diligently at your service.
♣ CLEAN AS YOU GO! When you go there, please be responsible for your garbage disposal.
Tagines Falls is one cold adventure perfect for the summer heat, and… well, the humid Philippines. Take a dive and refresh in the heart of Moalboal, Cebu ♥ It’s just waiting for you!
