Poster session suggestions for presenters and participants

Basic information on poster presentations

Poster presentations will take place during three sessions

  • Wednesday July 8th at 06:00 UTC
  • Wednesday July 15th at 14:00 UTC
  • Wednesday July 22nd at 22:00 UTC

Each session will last 90 minutes; the exact starting time and the list of posters for each session can be found in the Schedule of the website.

Presentations will follow the model of virtual office hours. Each such poster presentation will consist of a Zoom or a Big Blue Button (BBB) meeting or link (see video tutorials for this platform). The presenters have the option to host this meeting themselves. This means that they will create and communicate to us (the organizers) a Zoom/BBB link---for the allotted time once we schedule the sessions---and that we will email this link to the conference participants some time before the poster session. If presenters are unable to create such a link, we will create one on their behalf. The idea is that conference participants---having the room links for each of the daily office hours (posters) emailed to them before---can then choose which poster viewing to attend and can "move" (hop) from one poster (link) to another.

Presenters may also consider providing us with a link to a website containing additional material related to their poster. This is optional and, if you are a presenter, please feel free to be creative about the material you include at this address. Suggestions include adding a prerecorded video advertisement for the poster, slides used for said poster, a sage notebook, links to related papers, a musical interpretation of the work, a computer simulation, etc.

Additionally, we encourage presenters to send us a link to a preprint of their extended abstract (arXiv, HAL, personal website, ...) or to the long-form version thereof. This will be placed next to their name and title talk on the Program section of our website until the official proceedings are published in the Séminaire Lotharingien de Combinatoire (SLC).

Frequently asked questions

  • Can you please send more information about the format of the poster presentation? We want to allow presenters to choose how to present their posters. For example, presenters could prepare and share a small number of slides (5-7), or a poster.
  • Will I be presenting this poster in FPSAC 2021 too? No, FPSAC 2020 Online will feature the presentations of accepted talks and posters to the original FPSAC 2020 Israel meeting. There will be a new batch of submissions for FPSAC 2021.
  • I am a poster presenter and I want to know if, during my assigned poster session, I can go and see other posters? If you are presenting with a co-author and as long as one presenter is hosting your poster, you can go and see other posters. We want to avoid participants clicking on links that do not work or have no hosts during the 90 minutes of the poster session.
