On Sunday, February the 13th the groups from Macedonia, Turkey, Romania and Spain arrived in Poland. Next day the guests were welcomed by the head teacher of I LO in Leszno, and students of the school presented their artistic performances in the main hall of the school. Afterwards we went to the townhall where there was a meeting with the mayor of the town. In the afternoon we went to a bowling alley where we had a very good time. Next day we took part in cooking activities. Divided into groups we made traditional Polish dishes such as: dumplings, pork chops or żurek ( a traditional soup). We all enjoyed eating the dishes together afterward which we went to the school playground to play football and basketball. In the afternoon we had a sightseeing tour around Leszno with mr Kaczmarek, a history teacher from our school. On Wednesday we went to an agriculture farm in Niechłód where we fed the animals and enjoyed being close to the nature. In the afternoon we visited Museum of Milling and Agriculture in Osieczna where our partners had a chance to see a unique group of three historical windmills from the 17th century.
On the way back, we visited the viewing platform "Jagoda 2" from where we could admire the panorama of Lake Łoniewskie. On Thursday we went on a trip to Wrocław, where we visited various interesting places with a guide. Among other things, we visited the Market Square and the Mathematical Tower. We returned tired but full of energy to go out together in the evening. Friday was our last day together. We went to the ice rink and the speedway stadium, where we watched the training and we visited the gallery of the cups won by the speedway club. In the evening we had dinner and a closing ceremony at the Old Gasworks, where the programme participants received their certificates. There was plenty of singing, dancing and fun. It was a wonderful, unforgettable week, during which we made new contacts and improved our language skills. The memories of the exchange will remain with us for a long time bringing smiles to our faces.
