Project Summary

Schools are learning spaces for educational actors who should feel comfortable and attracted to the educational environment. The constant changes in the educational systems, new educational policies and the increasing demands of the society have not enough positive influence when it comes to student’ well being, as there is noticeable the pressure of the bullying phenomena , violence and harassment among children. EU schools are asked to create prevention and intervention plans for facing students’ violence and discrimination tendencies. For creating a better strategy regarding the preventative measures needed to be considered, we consider that a stronger involvement of the students in this process can have a strong impact. Creating a strategy to decrease discrimination at the school level, with students’ help, will make them more engaged and responsible as citizens of a united community. Teachers will have key roles in bringing students together and empowering them to contribute in finding the adequate preventive measures to improve students’ behavior. We want to foster the idea that anti-bullying behavior is something that should be part of our lifestyles and values, and not just a project topic. For this, it is necessary to tackle the inner motivation of the educational actors and find a balance in terms of human and material resources. In promoting the active citizenship and positive attitudes of our students, teachers’ initiatives need the support of the families, local authorities and whole community. The project objectives aroused from our common needs: to foster social inclusion, promote a cultural of care, and develop interpersonal and communication skills, decrease fear of expressing the own identity. Our main aim is to help institutions to develop better prevention and intervention plans to deal with aggressive and violent students. To reach this core aim we have designed the following objectives: -to equip teachers coming from 5 EU schools with theoretical and practical knowledge to face bullying, discrimination and violence at the school level -to create a common strategy for preventing violence during a two years project -to foster tolerance and respect among teachers and students from 5 EU schools -to promote social inclusion in 5 EU schools -to expand participants’ soft skills -to facilitate peer learning environment -to encourage creativity, freedom of speech and self-expression Participants The target groups to which the project is addressed are student and teachers. Teachers deal with students’ aggressive behaviours, and through this project they can develop the internal school strategy. Students’ aggressive and discriminatory tendencies are increasing every year. An international contact will encourage peer learning and students will get in touch with other realities which will help to better understand themselves.
