3st Meeting Report

PROJECT: “ FOSTERING TOLERANCE AND RESPECT AGAINST VIOLENCE AND BULLYING”

The C3 Mobility took place in Ciudad Real (Spain) from 13 to 19 december 2021.

The following activities were carried out during the week.

· Monday 13 December 2021

All the groups are received at the airport in Madrid by two teachers from Salesianos Hermano Gárate School

and are brought to the hotel in Ciudad Real where the event took place.

· Tuesday 14 December 2021

1. WELCOME MEETING AT THE SCHOOL THEATRE SALESIANOS HERMANO GÁRATE CIUDAD REAL.

All the groups from the different participant countries (teachers and students) attend the welcome event

where the Headmaster from school Mr Miguel Ángel Muñoz gives a short speech focusing in the importance

of this mobility not only for the school but for the city itself.

The activity took place at 10.00 am where all the lessons were given in the different classes as usual but the

24 students of the Project were not attending as they were welcoming the participants.

Other students from diferente levels were also participating in the event performing typical dances and

songs.

The director as well as the teachers from the Erasmus team and other teachers attend the event as the

Music Teacher and who participated singing a song written by herself “WHO WERE A KID”.

Teachers and students from different levels were involved preparing the welcoming event (flags from

different countries and banners were decorating the school as well as accreditations with names and

countries were handed out)

The participants from our school benefited as they could participate actively in this event gettinng involved

with the people from different countries. Our students were very eager to talk and practise English with the

students from abroad at the school entrance.

2. RECEPTION AT THE TOWN HALL BY THE MAJOR Mrs EVA Mª MASÍAS

All the groups from the different participant countries (teachers and students) attend the reception at the

TOWN HALL as well as the Headmaster and the teachers from the Erasmus team and a selection of students

from the Project from our school due to the limited space in the Town Hall. The Major welcomed the

participants and imposed the “Pañuelo de Hierbas” which is a sign of identity in our city (it was used by

workers in the fields in the ancient times) and we are very proud of it.

The local Television CRTV was recording the event which was broadcasted the next day in the local TV.

This activity benefited the participants because they could visit one of the most important buildings in our

city and it was an honor to be received by the Major.

The event finished with a group picture by the Christmas tree facing the Town Hall which was in the local

papers next day highlighted as a very important event taking place in the city.

The news also highlighted the event as a sign of tolerance and respect due to the fact of the very different

nationalities getting together and a way to fight against violence and bullying.

3. LUNCH IN A TYPICAL RESTAURANT.

All the participants were invited to enjoy the most typical dishes from our city and country in one of the

oldest restaurants in the city BAR ESPAÑA.

The teachers from the ERASMUS TEAM as well as the Headmaster ans other teachers involved in the Project

attended the lunch.

The participants benefitied as trying different foods and dishes from other countries unables you to know

and understand the culture better and makes you more tolerant and openminded.

4. DESIGNING A ROBOT AT SCHOOL.

All the students participated in this activity programmed by the Technology Teacher Mrs Ana Moraga where

all the students had to desing a robot using a computing programme.

The students were working in pairs and they developed their imagination, creativity as well as their

management of technology.

Only a group of 7 students from our school were attending the activity due to the space in the Technology

Room and the COVID situation.

The activity was carried out from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm because in the morning the Technology Room is being

used by the students.

The teachers were having a litlle time to rest, have a coffee and programme the rest of the mobilities in the

closest classroom.

The local newspaper LA TRIBUNA was interviewing one student per country where the students could talk

about the impact of the Project in themselves and the bullying situation in each country. They were in the

front page of this newspaper with an article about the Project being carried out in our school.

· Wednesday 15 December 2021

1. GUIDED TOUR AROUND THE CITY

All the participants in the Project as well as the Erasmus Team and a group of 6 students from our school

were guided by a local Tour Guide around the most important places and monuments in our city getting to

know the most remarkable points in history.

The activity benefited the participants as they could get to know and undersatnd better our city knowing

about our history and culture.

2. RECEPTION AT THE DIPUTACIÓN PALACE.

All the participants visited the DIPUTACIÓN PALACE regarded as one of the most important place in out city.

They coud see the interior and see how the building has been changing over the years, they were told the

importance of this building as the place where all the province decisions are taken and they could also

enjoy the paintings of one of the most important painters from Ciudad Real: ÁNGEL ANDRADE.

The group was accompained by the Erasmus teachers as well as a selection of students from our school and

the activity could benefit the particpants because they could know on of the most important local

institutions in our city.

3. SPORTS COMPETITION IN THE D BOSCO POLIDEPORTIVO

All the participants in the Project (teachers and students) as well as the 24 students involved in the Project

from our school were participataing in a football competition in the POLIDEPORTIVO D BOSO which is a

reference not only for our school but also for the city since our school has a long tradition of students playing

FOOTBALL so the event was very entertaining and exciting and some other students from different levels at

our school were also participating.

The benefits for the paticipants were the ability to use sport as a way to Foster tolerance and respect using

FAIRPLAY and finding the game as a way to refuse violence.

The local televisión CRTV was also recording some parts of the event and interviewing some students.

The EQUALITY COUNCIL was present at the begining of the event where the Tshirts for all the participants

were given as thay had been financed by the EQUALITY COUNCELOR as a symbol against any kind of

discrimination showing the similarities we have no matter our origin, religión or race.

· Thursday 16 December 2021

1. TOLEDO TRIP

All the participants as well as the Erasmus Team and a selection of students from our school were visiting the

city of TOLEDO which is a sign of respect and tolerance where the 3 cultures were living together for years:

The Muslims, the Christians and the Jews.

We could not find a better place to be guided along the most important places in the city where we could

learn about tolerance and respect of the 3 cultures over the years.

The benefits for the participants was getting to know more about our country, the richness of our culture

and our tolerance for people from different origins which was directly related with the topic of the Project:

the tolerance.

2. TEACHERS DINNER AT A RESTAURANT.

The teachers from the Project as well as other teachers who had participated in some activities were invited

to enjoy a dinner at a restaurant where could talk about next mobilities and the intention to keep all our

schools in touch over the years.

Friday 17 December 2021

1. TRIP TO ALMAGRO VILLAGE

All the participants visited the village of Almagro where they could viit 3 cultural spaces:

- The Corral of Comedies from the 17th century

- The 19th century local theatre

- The Dominicos Convent and Cloister

The participants could get to know one of the most important villages not only in Castilla La Mancha but also

in Spain where an INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL takes place in the month of July when actors from

all over the world perfom in the different theatres.

The participants could benefit as to get to know local places with international repercussion.

2. GUIDED TOUR TO THE CASINO BETHELEM

THe History teacher from our school Mr Juan Crespo guided the activity explaining each part of the great

BETHELEM in the CASINO which has a long tradition in our city since ancient times.

The participants as well as the students selected from our school enjoyed the acitvity and benefited because

they got to know one the most important Christian traditions in our city.

3. TYPICAL DINNER AT THE YOUTH CENTER SCHOOL.

All the participants as well as the teachers from the ERASMUS TEAM enjoyed a dinner based on typical

dishes and popular Christmas sweets and desserts.

The students and teachers are given certificates of attendance as well as small gifts and souvenirs from our country.

· Saturday 18th:

Two partners (Poland and Macedonia) are leaving during the evening and the other two countries

spend the day shopping and touring the city.

· Sunday 19th:

Turkey and Romania return home.

The mobility taken place in Ciudad Real from 13 to 19 december 2021 has been successfully carried out. It

was highlighted as an important event in the city by the important media such as the local newspapers and

and local TV.

It was also recognized as a crucial event in our school as we felt very proud to share our customs and

traditions as a way to make people, specially teenagers, more tolerant and respectful which is the most

important aim of the Project.
