Thomas wants you to know that the railroad connecting Macon and Forsyth was finished in 1838. A few years later, the railroad was extended to Atlanta. The stone depot was built to accommodate passengers and handle freight, especially bales of cotton grown in Monroe County . The former president of the Central Georgia Railway, William Morrill Wadley, was a resident of Bolingbroke (which he named) and the depot was restored to become a museum. The interstate was cut through Forsyth in 1968 leading to easy access for transporting goods.
