Hire me!
The FORMALITAS project was a two-year project, carried out between April 2023 and March 2025. The FORMALITAS website will be updated continously, also after the project period.
I am now ready to take on any teaching or research task compatible with my interests and skills. I am also open to new academic challenges.
See above for my CV and contact details.
Thanks!
Claus A. Andersen
Background: The website www.formalitas.eu was constructed as a part of Claus A. Andersen's MSCA project FORMALITAS – The Formalist Tradition in Late Scholastic Philosophy: A Renaissance Forerunner of Formal Ontology (project nr. 101064452). The two-year project runs from April 2023 to March 2025. The project is supervised by Prof. Jacob Schmutz and is hosted at the Centre De Wulf-Mansion / Institut supérieur de philosophie, Université catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium).
Acknowledgements: I am grateful to Garrett R. Smith for contributing his inventory of manuscripts from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries to this website (see under Catalogue of Manuscripts). I am also grateful to Stephan Meier-Oeser for making Wolfgang Hübener's catalogue available to me (see under Catalogue of Printed Texts). Over the years, many individuals helpfully added to my knowledge of the Formalist tradition and the output of the Formalists, or otherwise supported my work thereon. Let me at this place warmly thank Jacob Schmutz, Rafael Ramis Barceló, Robert Andrews, Bill Duba, Sven K. Knebel, Sylvain Roudaut, Vitaly Ivanov, Daniel Heider, Apaoan Machado, Mário João Correia, Alberto Casadei, Alexander Fidora, Celia López Alcalde, and Hannes Möhle. Long before I became aware of the late-scholastic Formalist tradition, Søren Gosvig Olesen, in seminars offered at the University of Copenhagen in the late 1990s, unforgetably showcased the wonders of distinction and identity, always starting out from and returning to the not so simple fact of A=A.
