The Food Waste Change Group wants to inform young students about the impact of the food they throw away and how they can avoid throwing food away in general.
We want to educate students on what they and their families can do to save our planet by reducing their food waste. We will involve several activities in order to keep the students engaged as well as give them all FWCG flyers to give to their parents.
1. pre quiz
2. presentation
3. small activity
4. post-quiz
5. (if time allows) fun activity

We will be presenting to a group of students in middle school in order to show them how to reduce food waste in their homes.
One of the main problems in our issue is the lack of education in families about how their food waste hurts the environment. If we educate the students and give them fliers to take home to their parents we can reach a larger demographic then just educating parents. The goal is that students learn enough to make conscious sustainable food choices even at a young age.
Since our action step is along the lines of a presentation, then the timeline is rather small. this should take about an hour to both teach the students about food waste and measure how much the students learned in the seminar.
We will give the students a pretest that will assess what the students know before the presentation. After the presentation we will give them a similar quiz, where we answered all the questions during the presentation to make sure they learned something during the presentation. We will also have a link to the website to have them take a poll on how much they enjoyed the activity.
