Daisuke KURABAYAHI is a professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology. He received his BE, ME, and Ph.D degrees from Department of Precision Machinery Engineering of the university of Tokyo, in 1993, 1995, and 1998, respectively. He worked for Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) as a postdoctoral researcher in 1998-2001. Since 2001, he had joined department of Mechanical and Control Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology. He was a visiting researcher in Padova university, Italy, in 2012-2013. Currently, he is the head of department of Systems and Control Engineering. His research interest includes motion planning, optimization, and bio-mimetic robot systems. He is serving a senior editor of Advanced Robotics Journal, and is a fellow of the Robotics Society of Japan. He is also a member of IEEE, SICE, JSME, JSPE, and JSCPB.
