Back-to-back conferences! After ICBCHT in Boston, the UF Flux Lab headed to Daejeon, South Korea, to attend the International Cryogenic Engineering Conference (ICEC).

As a group that is relatively new to the cryogenic community, we were excited to present our research on the wettability characterization of cryogenic liquids and connect with researchers from around the world. The conference was a great opportunity to learn about the latest advances in cryogenic technologies, exchange ideas, and build new collaborations.

June 14-17, 2026 @ MIT in Cambridge, MA

The UF Flux Lab had a great time at ICBCHT at MIT! Reza and Junseo presented their research during the poster session and had the opportunity to connect with researchers from across the phase-change heat transfer community. 

We also visited Youngsup's former PhD group, the RK Heat Transfer Lab, and got a behind-the-scences look at their experimental facilities. It was an exciting week filled with new ideas, valuable discussions, and plenty of insipriation for our future research.

At MAE, we hold the Spring MAE Poster Competition annually. This year, Reza and Junseo participated and presented their recent research results.

In this month's group meeting, Reza presented a journal club on a recent paper about polymeric heat exchangers. For the research update, Philip provided a clear overview of his electrolysis work, including its background and motivation.

In our monthly group meeting this month, Philip gave a great review of "Uncertainty Analysis" based on the NIST guidelines because even our error bars deserve rigorous representation 📊.  Dylan also gave a practice talk for his upcoming Undergraduate Research Symposium presentation.

Great group time at the annual MAE Faculty & Staff vs. Grad Students kickball game. Lots of energy, laughs, and surprisingly competitive plays.

And this year... the Faculty & Staff team took the win!
