Raúl López

Raúl López is Associate Professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Lleida (UdL) since 1996. He holds a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering (UdL, 2005), a BSc in Geography (four-year degree) (UdL, 2000), a BSc in Hydrologic Engineering (three-year degree) (1993), and a BSc in Civil Construction Engineering (three-year degree) (1992) both from the Civil Engineering School of Barcelona (Technical University of Catalonia). He is a hydraulic engineer, fluvial geomorphologist and hydrologist whose main research interests include modelling processes in fluvial hydraulics and fluvial geomorphology (especially flow resistance and incipient motion and bed load sediment transport in gravel bed rivers and mountain streams), modelling surface hydrology (in urban, rural and forest basins), and assessment the hydrological significance of mountains regions. Since 1993 he has participated in several competitive research projects funded by Spanish Ministry of Science, and the Commission of the European Communities.
