Gemma Lobera

Gemma is a Fluvial Eco-geomorphologist who finished her PhD on February 2017 at the University of Lleida (UdL), under the supervision of Dr. Ramon J. Batalla and Damià Vericat. She has an undergraduate degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Restoration, both from the University of Barcelona.

Her thesis was entitled: Eco-geomorphological dynamics in contrasting mediterranean rivers with different degrees of flow regulation, included in the project SCARCE-CONSOLIDER: Assessing and predicting effects on water quantity and quality in Iberian rivers caused by global change (see projects). The Thesis focused on the effects of dams on river flow regimes, sediment transport, channel morphology, bed mobility and macroinvertebrate communities in Mediterranean rivers of the Iberian Peninsula at multiple temporal and spatial scales.
