Estrella Carrero

Estrella is a PhD student at the University of Lleida. She has a degree in Geological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's degree in Geological Engineering and Geological Resources from the University of Oviedo. Her master's thesis was carried out at INDUROT (Institute of Natural Resources and Territory Planning). The objective of this work was to evaluate the geomorphological changes associated with major floods in Cantabrian rivers, specifically the flood of June 2010 in the Nalón River (Asturias) through the mapping of the main geomorphological effects.

After her master's degree in 2020 she worked in an environmental consulting company. She participated as a field technician in the investigation and remediation of contaminated soils.

She began his doctorate in January 2021. Her thesis focuses on the importance of morpho-sedimentary dynamics in the characterization and evaluation of fluvial physical habitat. The research is carried out within the framework of the MorphHab research project.
