About the Inventor

Hi, I am Kedar, an 11 year old conservationist and home-schooler from PA!

When I was 7 years old, I was feeling super bored during the summer :(

So I asked my mom for something fun to do.

She suggested gardening, and after some research we decided to do Pollinator Gardening.

What is Pollinator Gardening?

Recently, our pollinator friends (bees, butterflies, birds, wasps, beetles ...) have been getting close to a mass extinction.

Some of the big reasons are: Chemicals, Pollution, Bad Gardening Practices (raking, leaf blowers, big lawns...), and a lack of native plants.

Most of the plants we buy at the stores are non-native plants which the local pollinators aren't able to digest.

Some non-natives can even hurt pollinators, e.g. make butterflies unable to lay eggs.

Native plants are the local food for the pollinators, and we need to plant more so we can save them!

We often cut down meadows of these crucial plants and replace them with lawns.

Lawns are like a desert to pollinators, they don't give any food and they have harmful chemicals like Pesticide or Herbicide that hurt insects of all kinds.

To educate everyone about this, I created an app called PollinatorForAPet which contains over 90 plants!

But I knew I could help the pollinators even more :)

I started a business called HeartForWildlife which focused on nature friendly crafts and games for families and teachers.

I also created little origami scenes which talked about all the problems our pollinator friends are facing.

My latest efforts have been in making games, specifically gardening games!

I thought about lot's of ideas but felt most excited about a butterfly game.

After many months of hard work, I created a game I feel very happy about :)

I can't wait to do even more for our pollinator friends!!!
