I was very motivated to execute this design because I strongly believe that everyone should be able to express themselves in anyway that they want, no matter how "different" they may seem from everyone else. Being able to confidently present your true self is something that I constantly work on because I feel that if you are happy with yourself, you shouldn't care what others think of you.

Like my project for the Digital Cutter, I changed my logo sketch quite a few times. I wanted it to be relatable but at the same time different in a sense. I was also conflicted on what I should actually make with the design, so it was actually very difficult. Going into the actual designing process, I made everything from scratch without having to trace the image I drew.

The material I used to execute my design was green colored mirrored acrylic. This allows you to see your reflection in the piece as well as shine light behind the design to watch it glow (shown in final project picture). The design was also executed using a laser cutter that etched and cut out the shapes of my design. It was very helpful to shadow my peers as the procedure for using the laser cutter was harder to execute compared to the procedure for using a Cameo.

One of the biggest challenges I faced during this process was the procedure for learning and understanding how the laser cutter works and the steps leading up to running the job for my design. I overcame the challenges by asking my peers and my teacher questions as well as just taking each task step by step. Overall, it was a very intricate and amazing learning experience that I wish everyone had the opportunity to go through.
