My biggest motivation for this project happened to be the fact that I am completely obsessed with horoscopes and astrology. Outer space and starry nights memorize me and I felt that my first ICL project should be something that represents me and what I love.

It took me a while to create and capture the exact design that I wanted. I had to go through the process of changing my design multiple times in order to get what I believed would truly work for me, that meaning I didn't overwork myself for my first ICL project but I didn't take the easy way out either. I worked really hard to redraw every little star and sun ray from scratch which took me about a week and a half. I've changed my design from wanting it to be a keychain to a necklace to a piece of metal that I can store on the back of my phone case.

The main material for this project was metal. A Cameo cutter was needed in order to have my design etched onto the metal. I found it really helpful to watch my peers complete their jobs using the Cameo as it was a great experience to learn from trial and error.

One of my biggest problems when it came to executing this project was that I initially wanted my design to be on a necklace pendant. The metal pendant that I brought in, however, was too thick for to be etched on a Cameo and a Curio, which were the only available resources. Ultimately, I had to change my material to a metal business card, which I cut out into the shape of a circle. Even though what I expected to create didn't occur, I'm still proud of the piece that I've executed.
