CLASSIC LEARNING TEST (CLT)
CLASSIC LEARNING TEST (CLT)
The CLT is a college entrance exam for 11th and 12th graders. It is an alternative to the SAT® and ACT®. The CLT is accepted at hundreds of colleges across the United States and abroad. Thanks to legislation passed in 2023, Florida students can use CLT scores to apply to Florida state universities, earn Bright Futures scholarships, satisfy graduation requirements, and earn dual enrollment credit. The state of Florida also funds all school districts to administer the CLT to 11th graders.
The CLT contains 3 sections:
● Verbal Reasoning (40 minutes)
○ 40 questions of textual comprehension and textual analysis
● Grammar/Writing (35 minutes)
○ 40 questions of grammatical editing and improvement
● Quantitative Reasoning (45 minutes)
○ 40 questions of logic and mathematics
The CLT is offered through DAOF/FLCCA at no charge and administered at one of our test sites. You have the option to register and pay for the CLT on your own if you would like to take it remotely. The cost is $69. To do so, sign up here.
Typically, scores are released the Wednesday following the exam administration.
