The Fire in the Root Council
Mission
Our mission is to promote and facilitate the long-term reduction of risk from wildfire, and adaptation to wildfire by communities and residents throughout Ravalli County
What is Fire In The Root Council?
Council is composed of representatives from not only local fire protection agencies, state and local government, but also concerned residents, realtors, builders, insurance agents, homeowner associations, wood products industries, local businesses, public health, etc. all working together to create innovative, cross-boundary solutions to reduce wildfire risk throughout the county.
The Council is involved with:
Information & outreach events,
Wildfire risk home assessments,
Community mitigation and education, and
Helping to update the 2006 Bitterroot Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
Fire in the Root Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm.
