7th workshop on

Complexity in Economics and Finance

CCS 2022 Satellite | October 19, Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Economic and financial systems are at the basis of the wellbeing of our society. However several recent events, from the global financial crisis of 2007/08 to the supply chain disruptions due to COVID-19 or the current war in Ukraine, have highlighted how the complex pattern of interconnections that characterizes these systems allows local failures to spread up to the full system scale. Over the past 15 years, complex systems and network science have played a key role in understanding the systemic dimension of such risks, as well as in devising strategies to improve resilience and stability of such systems, through a fruitful interplay of basic research and policy applications. Furthermore, researchers active in these fields have produced effective tools to understand and predict the patterns of economic development and innovation, as well as to further the societal aim of attaining a more equal, sustainable and green growth. Rapidly emerging digital technologies and financial systems have also received considerable attention.

This workshop, a satellite meeting of CCS2022, returns for the seventh edition after being hosted by StatPhys26, NetSci2017, NetSci2018, NetSci2019, NetSciX2020, NetSci2020 (previously named as "Statistical Physics of Economic and Financial Networks"). The event aims at bringing together researchers active in the study of complex systems in economics and finance to discuss state-of-the-art work in the field, share knowledge across disciplines, and create opportunities for novel and fruitful collaborations.
